Feature Request – Custom Exchange Rates for Multi-Currency Accounts

Hello MoneyCoach Team,

I’m a MoneyCoach Premium user from Nicaragua, and I would like to suggest a feature that could improve the accuracy and flexibility of multi-currency account management.

Currently, MoneyCoach automatically applies exchange rates when converting balances between currencies. However, in Nicaragua, as in many other countries, commercial banks often use exchange rates that differ from official or market reference rates.

For example, MoneyCoach currently displays an exchange rate of 1 USD = 36.80 NIO, while the exchange rate I use for my financial accounts is 1 USD = 37.15 NIO.

This difference affects the converted balances displayed in the app, particularly when managing bank accounts and credit cards in multiple currencies.

I would like to suggest the following improvements:

  1. Allow users to manually configure a custom exchange rate for specific currency pairs (e.g., USD/NIO).

  2. Provide the option to choose between automatic exchange rates and user-defined rates.

  3. Allow custom exchange rates to be applied to account balances, summaries, and financial reports.

  4. Ideally, support different exchange rates for individual accounts, since banks may apply different rates.

  5. Preserve original transaction amounts and currencies without modifying historical records when changing the exchange rate.

I believe this feature would be particularly valuable for users in countries where official exchange rates differ from those applied by commercial banks.

Thank you for considering this suggestion. I would appreciate knowing whether this functionality is currently available or planned for a future update.

Best regards,
Luis
